History of Mobile Crane
Before 1870 cranes were fixed to a position, but there were some exception which were fixed on flatcars which gave them restricted movement. After that, crane which worked with steam power were built by Appleby Brothers at Paris in 1867 and Vienna in 1873. Appleby Crop. Started to produce truck-mounted cranes in 1922. In 1992, there were some major steps in developing crane those steps were the adoption of the internal combustion engine and the invention of telescopic jibs. In 1960, cranes were able to increase their height which increased operation costs. These major steps were integrated and then modernized cranes. In 1962, the Coles Hydra Speedcrane was produced, then in 1966, it was modified with 10-ton fully telescopic hydraulic boom. After that in 1968, it was modified by the 30-ton “Husky” military versions with four-wheel drive. Later, some of the best developer built a 25-ton crane which brought together several state of the art development.
