Mobile Crane
“A mobile cranes is type of equipment which is a cable-controlled crane mounted on crawlers or rubber tired carriers. Or it is a hydraulic-powered crane with a telescoping boom mounted or truck type carriers or as self-propelled models. The most basic type of mobile crane consists of a truss or telescopic boom mounted on a mobile platform — be it on road, rail or water. Common terminology is conventional and hydraulic cranes respectively."
Construction cranes are usually temporary structures, they are either fixed to the ground or mounted on a purpose-built vehicle. They may either be controlled from an operator in a cab that travels with the crane, by a pushbutton pendant control station, or by infrared or radio control. Where a cab operator is employed, workers on the ground will communicate with the operator through a system of standardised hand-signals or, in larger installations, radio systems; an experienced crew can position loads with great precision using only these signals.
Generally, mobile cranes work a boom from the end. And a hook is suspended by wire rope and sheaves. The wire ropes are operated by prime movers operating through a variety of transmissions such as steam engines, electric motors, and internal combustion engines (IC) have all been used. In past, clutches was more favorable.

Application of Mobile Crane
Generally, they can be be used to lift and lower heavy materials and to move them horizontally and transport them to other places. Also, they can be used to demolish by adding a demolition wrecking ball and other attachments or to an earthmover by adding a clamshell bucket or a dragline and scoop, although design details can limit their effectiveness.
